Hello! I've done some research on woman's organizations affiliated with Lyon Post, and other Cumberland County G.A.R. Post's. There are a lot of newspaper articles about them in old editions of the Bridgeton Evening News, which I have access to via my membership with Genealogybank.com. These groups appeared to be a very patriotic lot, as is our C.H.A. I haven't though, determined as yet, what made their functions different from each other, when they began or ended, or if they started out under one name, and eventually evolved into another group. IE: Woman's Relief Corps, Ladies Relief Corps, Lyon Relief Corps,& Ladies of the G.A.R. The file I'm sending you 1st, in a separate e-mail will be primarily articles mentioning the 'U.S. Grant Circle (No. 13?), Ladies of the G.A.R., that was connected with Lyon Post #10. It gives me joy to recognize the sisters that went before us. Jennifer Piccirillo Researcher "NEWSPAPER ARTICLES" .PDF Files
